Thoughts on Entrepreneurship

I encourage all budding entrepreneurs to charge what they know their time and skills are worth. If the potential client balks, good.

Clients worth doing business with expect to pay a fair rate.

Discounts are OK when issued strategically. If you’re offering a discount to get initial business, you’re setting a bad president. You’ll be known as the cheap guy and you’ll be sought because you “hook folks up.”

If the discount is to thank a client for business or if you’re truly OK offering a lower rate, go for it…

Never charge $5 for $20 worth of work, because the client will still expect you to deliver $20 quality work regardless.
